Here’s the statewide Doppler radar this morning. The storm has now developed a surface trough which is dropping heavy showers for O`ahu, Moloka`i and Lana`i, and isolated showers for Maui and the Big Island. There are sill some leftover showers on Kaua`i as well.
One unexpected feature of the trough is that there are some pretty gusty winds just behind it. Since it is close to O`ahu at the moment, that island has the strongest winds, with some gusts reported as high as 50 mph on the leeward side. All of O`ahu is under a wind advisory and a flood advisory right now.
For now, it appears that the rain will get heavier on O`ahu, Moloka`i and Lana`i as the day goes on.
In the meantime, for those of you who like to follow radar, you can click on the alert banner on the KITV.com home page. For much more, click here for our weather page, which includes our Map Room and much, much more.
Stay safe and dry!
